"Son" Shine Corner Servants of God
My name is Anna Music. I am a retired social worker and former employee of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, where I dedicated my career to Foster Care and Adoption services.
From a very young age, I knew my purpose was to help others. I often asked my mother if I could assist our elderly neighbors by cleaning their homes or offering a helping hand. I felt a deep sense of fulfillment in serving others and knew even then that I was called to do God’s work.
Allow me to share the story behind “Son” Shine Corner – Ann’s House, a street ministry that was born from a vision God placed on my heart in January 2020. In that moment, God spoke to me and said, “Anna, go and purchase a building and give it to the people on the streets.”
I felt much like Moses—unsure, unprepared, and questioning whether I was capable of fulfilling such a calling. Yet, through faith and obedience, I began searching for a building. I looked at several locations over the course of two and a half years, trusting that God would reveal the right place in His time.
Eventually, He led me to 309 13th Street in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Taking on such a significant responsibility was intimidating, but God reassured me with the promise, “I will provide.” And He truly has.
When God tells us He will provide, all He asks is that we trust Him. This ministry stands as a testament to that promise, built entirely on faith, obedience, and God’s unwavering provision.
At SON Shine Corner, our mission is simple: to serve others with compassion, dignity, and without judgment. Since November 2022, we have been collecting gently used items from yard sales, closets, attics, and basements—items that might otherwise go to thrift stores—and redistributing them to those in need.
Our ministry also provides weekly community meals, distributes groceries, and supports individuals facing challenging circumstances. None of this would be possible without our dedicated volunteers. Local businesses, churches, families, and community groups generously contribute both meals and financial support, helping us keep our doors open and our services running smoothly.
"SON" Shine Corner serves a wide range of individuals, including the homeless, those struggling with addiction, the mentally ill, and anyone in need—regardless of their appearance or circumstances. We welcome everyone, even those who may arrive with soiled clothing or unkempt appearances. We do not judge, because, as God does for us, we extend open arms to all.
This is an open invitation to anyone who feels called to join us in serving others and living out God’s work. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need hope, care, and compassion.
God Bless,
Anna Music
